Asking About Weather

¿Qué tiempo hace? = What's the weather like?

¿Cómo está el tiempo? = How's the weather?

Key Pattern

Most weather expressions use hacer (to make/do):

Hace + [noun]: hace calor, hace frío, hace sol

For ongoing conditions, use estar + gerund:

Está lloviendo, está nevando

For conditions, use estar + adjective:

Está nublado, está despejado

Hoy hace sol y calor

¿Qué tiempo hace en Madrid?
